LTBP Trades
LTBP trades are monthly tanker freight average reports for commonly traded routes with specific cargo sizes. They provide retrospective and indicative values as they use the same high quality and reviewed information that is used for “AFRA”, but differ in that only the confirmed spot market cargoes loaded in the period are included.
The monthly reports use information gathered relating to cargoes loading between the 16th of one month to the 15th of the next. Those cargoes may have been fixed at anytime prior to, or during this period. The reports are then made available on the 1st of the following month. The reports are not published in real time but do offer a valuable statistic which can be used for benchmarking as well as being written into freight settlement agreements.
The examples shown, cover a range of cargo sizes and trades. The LTBP trades are prepared only where we recognise a reliable and plentiful supply of actual market fixtures available in order to create a sound average value. These values will be published in terms of Worldscale points.
The trades included within the reports will differ over time following global trading patterns. The reports can be used to highlight these trading patterns as volumes switch to new loading areas and discharge areas. The reports will follow the top 35 trades by volume of fixtures in the period. Any subscribers requiring more information or wish to receive assessments which no longer appear in the top 35 will be able to request an assessment from the LTBP for a monthly average. The reports can also be requested for previous periods.
If your organization is interested in receiving more information on these products or would like to make an enquiry involving your preferred routes or freight assessment requirements please contact the Panel for help.
